Job Purpose:

To support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communication systems and equipment in order to establish effective communication among Dallah Health’s staff, patients, and visitors, thus contributing to seamless operations, patient care, and overall functionality within the limits of pre-set guidelines, processes, and procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Organizational accountabilities

  • Follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions and ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Promote the implementation and adherence to relevant policies, processes, and operating procedures to others.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, taking into account leading practices, improvement of department processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service, and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Build high levels of trust and understanding with key internal and external stakeholders to promote full compliance with industry regulations and promote a broader understanding of Dallah Health’s interests and practices.

Functional Accountabilities

  • Install and configure communication equipment, such as telephones, intercoms, paging systems, nurse call systems, and public address systems throughout the Dallah Health facility.
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology (SSC) team to ensure proper connectivity and integration of the communication system to the network infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality and smooth communication.
  • Implement software updates, patches, and system upgrades to communication equipment to maintain security and enhance functionality.
  • Test and maintain emergency communication systems, such as code blue alarms or disaster response communication tools.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the staff in using communication equipment effectively.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure seamless communication.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues or malfunctions in communication equipment, identifying root causes and promptly implementing necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for advanced technical support and equipment repairs.
  • Support regular testing and maintenance activities to ensure communication equipment's reliability and effectiveness.
  • Manage the inventory of communication equipment, including spare parts, replacements, and consumables, ensuring necessary components are readily available for quick repairs and replacements.
  • Maintain accurate records of communication equipment installations, replacements, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory, updating documentation to reflect changes in communication system configurations and settings.
  • Ensure communication systems adhere to healthcare regulations, data privacy requirements, and industry standards.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies to recommend improvements and updates for communication systems.

Staff Midwife - Delivery Room

Description

The provision of high standard clinical care for the patients for whom she is responsible, clinical care includes optimal quality obstetrical and neonatal nursing care to mothers and babies within the available resources in the Delivery Room.


Provides the necessary maternity care to her patients to meet the requirements outlined above, including routine care, preventive measures, detection of abnormal progress of pregnancy or abnormal conditions in the mother of infant, the procurement of appropriate medical advice and the execution of emergency measures as required.


Carries out the necessary examination at the prescribed interval.


Cares for the mother during labour and monitors the condition of the fetus using clinical and technical means and assists the doctor at delivery.


Midwives are allowed to administer drugs in their extended role if previously agreed, have attended a course on ?Drug Administration? and be certified for the individual Staff Midwife.


Examines the neonate and takes immediate steps to resuscitate if necessary.


Provides immediate and progressing postnatal care whilst the mother is in the unit.


Ensures that support, instructions and advice are provided to the mother for the continued care of their babies.


Ensures that doctors? orders and patient management plans are followed and that appropriate steps are taken, including immediate notification of the resident in charge or doctor on-call, of any deterioration from the expected course of the patient?s conditions.


Maintains continuity of care at the take-over and handover reports, ensuring that the communication is clear at all times.


Ensures that the appropriate records of the patients? progress are maintained according to the unit?s policies and procedures.


Promotion, teaching and encouragement of ante-natal and postnatal health education to patients and their relatives.


Assists in the assessment of performance of the staff in the unit.


Ensures knowledge and understanding of department policies and procedures concerning CPR, fire, major disaster, etc.


Assists in the provision of orientation, guidance and direction, and training to new staff.


Ensures self updating in all areas of midwifery care.


Ensures that the necessary financial records are maintained for the Finance Department.


Staff should be competent as follows:


Provides appropriate newborn care and observation including resuscitation or assistance in resuscitation.


Provide safe and effective care for pregnant women during labour and immediate postpartum period.


Provides appropriate care and patient education in the prevention of thrombo-embolic events during labour, delivery and post delivery.


Provides care and observation for the patient requiring Entonox inhalation analgesia (Self Administration).


Provides appropriate care to woman with Diabetes labour.


Provides appropriate care to a woman with IUFD or Mid-trimester abortion in labour and delivery.


Provides care for the patient receiving epidural analgesia.


Assess fetal heart rate patterns using the electronic fetal monitor and provides appropriate care.


Provides appropriate care and intervention in the management of obstetric emergencies.

Neurology Consultant

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs clinical duties as per his/her assigned clinical privileges.
  • Assess his/her patients thoroughly (eg.clinical, socioeconomic, psychological and functional assessments) as per DSFH policies and documents patients' assessment in patients' medical records.
  • Develops plan of care for patients using evidence based approach and following standards of care, and documents the plan of care in patients’ medical record as per DSFH policies.
  • Ensures that patients’ plan of care that is put by him/her is being implemented in a timely manner.
  • Becomes the most responsible physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under his/ her name.
  • For inpatients admitted under his/her name, develops discharge plan on day of admission and involves discharge planning service as early as possible if warranted.
  • Assesses inpatients that are admitted under his/her name at least once daily and ensures documentation of daily assessment and plan of care in daily progress notes using SOAP format and as per DSFH policies.
  • Responds to medical consultations in timely manner and as per DSFH policies
  • Documents in timely manner and as per DSFH policies medical interventions that he/she performs on patients.
  • Responsible for timely completion and authentication of discharge summaries for patients admitted under his/her name. Also responsible for ensuring that indicated discharge instructions and education on take home medications is done prior to patients discharge.
  • Conducts education to patients and their families and engages them in the plan of care. Document given education in patients’ medical record.
  • Attends to hospital duties and responds to calls from hospital as per departmental /section call schedule
  • Attends departmental and general staff meetings and contributes ideas for improving efficiency, productivity and patient satisfaction.
  • Responsible for writing medical reports of his/her patients, and as per DSFH policies.
  • Contributes to teaching rounds and teaching activities as requested by chairperson of medical department
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

Role Purpose

Uses independent judgment and initiative to obtain the radiological studies for the prescribed examinations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Selects and operates appropriate equipment for each exam.

2. Positions patients according to examinations requested.

3. Selects appropriate technical factors for each patient.

4. Produces images of acceptable film quality.

5. Uses suitable working practices to ensure that all radiation protection and safety regulations are complied with

6. Maintains correct attitude of professional conduct and conforms to all normal ethical relationships.

7. Ensures examination rooms are in a state of cleanliness and readiness at all times.

8. Reports all equipment malfunctions to the Chief Technician or designee.

9. Assists in the emergency treatment of patients.

10. Observes all infection control standards laid down in policy documents, particularly in respect to sterile procedures.

11. Administer (under the direction and supervision of the radiologist) oral, rectal and parenteral contrast media, including intravenous contrast media.
