Description

To manage the patients? specimens for whom he / she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources of Dallah Hospital.


To perform analytical tests on patient specimens.

To record and maintain specimen and test results log book.

Responsible for running internal/external quality control procedures and maintain records

Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the analytical equipment(s) used and their documentation.

Preparation of reagents as required.

Urgent/Abnormal results to be brought to one relevant laboratory consultant/ specialist?s attention to be communicated to the requesting doctor. Out of hours results are to be released by the technologist and copy submitted to appropriate laboratory consultant for subsequent verification

Daily statistics and necessary documents in the section

As per direction of Head of Laboratory, he / she may perform following duties in Histopathology:

Processes, embeds, cuts and stains haematoxylin and eosin slides from block of fixed tissue.

Prepares and stains frozen sections/cytology specimens.

Perform usual range of special stains and immunocytochemistry on selected cases.

Maintain stocks or reagents and other consumables.

Responsible for chemical inventory and maintain Personal Protective Equipment and coordinates with Laboratory Safety Officer.

Ensure that stock management and inventory is updated and supplies and reagents are within the expiration dates and stored on their specific temperature storage.

Maintain all documents, worksheets in his/her section are updated.

Perform proficiency testing and competency assessment.

Implements appropriate policies and procedures to achieve the Hospital?s goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, Quality/ Performance Improvement.

Performs any other duties within his range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by Head of Department.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Organizational accountabilities

  • Promote the implementation and adherence to relevant policies, processes, and operating procedures to others.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, taking into account leading practices, improvement of department processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

  • Test and maintain emergency communication systems, such as code blue alarms or disaster response communication tools.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the staff in using communication equipment effectively.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure seamless communication.

The Purpose of the Role

The HSE leader will demonstrate ability to implement effective Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system, maintain regulatory compliance and improve overall HSE culture. Actively collaborate and participate as a valued member of the country & multi-site management teams to provide HSE leadership. Principle Responsibilities: 

  • ·       Ensure Compliance to Honeywell corporate requirements and Global ISC programs and local legislation (tracks changes, reviews/modifies local procedures to comply). Addresses roles and responsibilities, advises all HSE action owners as needed.
  • ·       Directs the coordination of all health and safety related activities, including monitoring of workplace environments throughout the sites.
  •        Ensure site HSE activity comply with Honeywell, SBJV-Customer & local government requirements
  •        Implements HSE risk review and aspects and impacts.
  •        Implement the SBJV requirements as per the Health & Safety Plan.
  •       Lead the HSE Officers in the implementation of the H&S requirements.
  •       Serves as liaison with third-party vendors and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Nebosh certification - minimum expectation is International General Certificate (IGC), Diploma would be preferred.
  • OSHA - minimum 30 hours training
  •         Minimum of 5 years of working experience in the health, safety and environmental field.
  •     Minimum of 1-2 years experience conducting and leading internal audits andimplementation
  •       HSE Technical writing skills are desired.

Staff Midwife - Delivery Room

Description

The provision of high standard clinical care for the patients for whom she is responsible, clinical care includes optimal quality obstetrical and neonatal nursing care to mothers and babies within the available resources in the Delivery Room.


Provides the necessary maternity care to her patients to meet the requirements outlined above, including routine care, preventive measures, detection of abnormal progress of pregnancy or abnormal conditions in the mother of infant, the procurement of appropriate medical advice and the execution of emergency measures as required.


Carries out the necessary examination at the prescribed interval.


Cares for the mother during labour and monitors the condition of the fetus using clinical and technical means and assists the doctor at delivery.


Midwives are allowed to administer drugs in their extended role if previously agreed, have attended a course on ?Drug Administration? and be certified for the individual Staff Midwife.


Examines the neonate and takes immediate steps to resuscitate if necessary.


Provides immediate and progressing postnatal care whilst the mother is in the unit.


Ensures that support, instructions and advice are provided to the mother for the continued care of their babies.


Ensures that doctors? orders and patient management plans are followed and that appropriate steps are taken, including immediate notification of the resident in charge or doctor on-call, of any deterioration from the expected course of the patient?s conditions.


Maintains continuity of care at the take-over and handover reports, ensuring that the communication is clear at all times.


Ensures that the appropriate records of the patients? progress are maintained according to the unit?s policies and procedures.


Promotion, teaching and encouragement of ante-natal and postnatal health education to patients and their relatives.


Assists in the assessment of performance of the staff in the unit.


Ensures knowledge and understanding of department policies and procedures concerning CPR, fire, major disaster, etc.


Assists in the provision of orientation, guidance and direction, and training to new staff.


Ensures self updating in all areas of midwifery care.

Provides care for the patient receiving epidural analgesia.


Assess fetal heart rate patterns using the electronic fetal monitor and provides appropriate care.


Provides appropriate care and intervention in the management of obstetric emergencies.
