Role Responsibilities:

  • Follow standard processes to accomplish tasks (Understand & follow oral and written directions)
  • Essential Task Description: (daily tasks and duties) including daily timesheet
  • Attend & complete assigned tasks within assigned time to the best ability and ensure quality services & customer satisfaction. Leave site clean & neat
  • Keep customer informed with the task nature & progress upon site arrival & prior leaving work site. Share outstanding issues & suggested enhancements / recommendations
  • Fill up Job Completion Certificate / Job Card / EH&S site surveys
  • Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation & diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and make recommendations
  • Make estimates of labor hours & materials required
  • Prepare Inspection reports (Site condition, SOW & Technical recommendations)
  • Prepare Technical Reports & Root cause analysis
  • Possess basic knowledge of computers and cell phone apps
  • Repair and replace damaged parts
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance & Maintain maintenance records
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensions
  • Work closely with colleagues as part of an integrated team
  • Recognize safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, and identify and implement appropriate controls to ensure safe work
  • Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or need to request additional support
  • Able to rig & properly set up gantry for safely lifting equipment, overhauling pumps, chillers etc.
  • Manage & organize machinery tools pickup, delivery, usage & inventory as applicable
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required
  • Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
  • Attend regular (EH&S / Technical) Trainings & meetings

Role Knowledge:

  • Principles and practices of HVAC equipments maintenance and repair in line with industry practices & manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Hazar & Safety practices and procedures used in installing, repairing & maintaining HVAC equipment and MSDS sheets.
  • Overall understanding & practices of tools utilization & management
  • Preparation & filling of inspection reports / Technical reports
  • Overall understanding & complying with quality management practices as per company standards & any other applicable quality standards
  • Good English knowledge in terms of speaking, writing, reading & listening
  • Communication & inter-personal skills, team player & customer oriented
  • Basic understanding & knowledge in Metal sheets, electrical, carpentry & Building Automation controls

About the Role

 

We are seeking a passionate and proactive individual to join our high-performing team, reporting to the Maintenance Coordination Superintendent at Port Hedland the role responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Responsible for Main Work Centre ownership of scaffolding contractor teams and cranes.
  • Provide Maintenance engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) with detailed scops to ensure work orders are planned and resourced effectively
  • Work order creation
  • Review weekly schedules
  • Execute in-field inspections to ensure compliance with procedures
  • Identify and develop improvement initiatives related to crane and scaffolding
  • Own and maintain scaffold register
  • Review Australian standards, legislation etc... relevant to scaffolding and industry standards

 

For shutdowns:

 

  • Liaise with vendors to organise ad hoc labour when there are shortages for both shutdown & weekly work
  • Assist with the planning and resourcing of late work and complex shutdown work
  • Review shutdown handovers and labour requests to assess gaps and escalate if required
  • Address any equipment constraints with vendors

 

Based at Port Hedland on a 5:2 roster with an option to be residential or FIy in - Fly out from Perth.

 

About You

 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels with both internal and external parties
  • Awareness or experience with SAP work management
  • Operational and site experience as well as scaffold & crane experience
  • Experience with managing teams
  • Enjoy solving multi-faceted problems, taking ownership of ideas/solutions and seeing them through to maturity with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges

The successful candidate will focus on applied research in mechatronics and instrumentation, including Robotics, AI, IoT, control and automation, and Embedded Systems, with experience in SolidWorks, programming and development, and LabVIEW-based systems using National Instruments (NI) technologies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement instrumentation infrastructure for modeling and simulation of smart applications, including interfacing with mechanical simulators.
  • Develop and optimize software and control algorithms for mechatronics and instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and faculty members in various research areas to develop research proposals and secure funding from external sources.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and reports.
  • Publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals, and present findings at external conferences, seminars, and/or technical meetings.
  • Perform all other related duties as required or assigned by the manager.


Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related field.
  • Strong background in one or more of the following areas: Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems, Robotics, AI, IoT, automation, SolidWorks, programming and development, and LabVIEW-based systems using National Instruments (NI) hardware and software.
