An exciting opportunity has recently arisen for the post of Trailer Driver on a full-time basis with Express Group, Malta’s leading transport and total logistics operator and the authorised distributor for Hammer Maskin, and Clark Fork Lifters.

The Trailer Driver will need to deliver and collect all type of clients’ consignments without incurring any damages and according to the temperature conditions requested by the client and the Company, if applicable. If necessary to assist also in loading and unloading of such goods as instructed, leaving them in the condition requested by client.

The selected candidate must:

  • Be in possession of a CE and clean driving licence
  • Be available to work shift hours as well as evenings and weekends
  • Have proficiency in both spoken and written Maltese and English
  • Have a clean police conduct
  • Have previous experience working as a truck driver

Manager - IFRS Compliance

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Manager to join our Group IFRS Compliance team that is primarily responsible to ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS at a Group level and for key Opcos within UAE. The IFRS Compliance team maintains Group Accounting Policies in conformity with IFRS, leads the Group-wide implementation of new/revised IFRS, provides expert IFRS accounting guidance/advice on transactions, conducts technical accounting research and prepares detailed accounting papers for the accounting treatments adopted as per IFRS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop IFRS 15 accounting scenarios including identification of POBs, guidance on determination of SSPs and other data points for revenue accounting engine and support in the practical implementation of IFRS in complex revenue arrangements.
  • Monthly review and monitoring of IFRS 9 ECL model for receivables & periodic working on appropriate micro/macro environment assumptions, discount rates etc.
  • Review and advice on new/non-standard leasing arrangements and periodic updates for standard leases regarding various assumptions and data points used within IFRS 16 leasing engine.
  • Support in the accounting interpretations and advice related to potential business combination under IFRS 3, merger & acquisition, spin-off, carve out, corporate restructuring and other related business strategic transactions.
  • Assist Corporate Finance and Group Reporting teams with the accounting analysis, accounting treatments and periodic updates relating to Group funding, treasury and risk management arrangements including financial instruments, derivatives and hedge accounting.
  • Provide IFRS advice on various operational issues referred by end user sections in Finance, Commercial, Technology & other Support functions particularly relating to revenue recognition; capex/opex/direct cost/leasing classification etc.
  • Support in annual review of useful life of PP&E and impairment assessments for tangible and intangible assets at Group and OpCos level.
  • Carry out technical accounting research and prepare accounting position papers to assist in key accounting judgments and justification of accounting treatments adopted in accordance with IFRS for significant new or non-standard transactions.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and serve as a key business partner in resolving accounting challenges at operational levels.

 

Job Requirements

  • Professional qualification in accounting
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience primarily in IFRS technical accounting and advisory role. Professional experience within Big4 Accounting firms or large reputable organizations will be preferred. 
  • Excellent accounting research and interpretation skills with hand on experience in developing accounting position papers
  • Working knowledge of the IFRS 9 ECL models, IFRS 15 5 step model calculations and IFRS 16 ROU/Lease liability calculation models. IFRS advisory experience for implementation of IFRS 9, IFRS 15 & IFRS 16 models/tools within telecom industry will be preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing frameworks to ensure periodic IFRS compliance within reputable organizations and Groups
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality outputs within time constraints

The Steel Fabricator/Welder will be participating in the maintenance and repairs of the Express Trailers heavy equipment, assisting mechanics in ensuring that these are made available, duly repaired and serviced, quickly and efficiently in order to avoid equipment idle time.

The selected candidate must:

  • Proven experience of 2+ years as a welder.
  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English and Maltese.
  • Sharpness and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Being in possession of the relative certification.

Support and coordinate outbound and inbound marketing activities in order to achieve overall HMG marketing objectives.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Support the Marketing Manager in day to day marketing activities such as preparing marketing strategy, plans, policies and processes.

Employee Relations Assistant

Responsible for the processing of activities in the Employee Relations section such as probationary appraisal, leave management, employee benefits, employees attendance, grievances, employee inquiries, payroll and other administrative support

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

  • Handle employees’ probationary process on a monthly basis and send the probationary package to respective department heads.
  • Ensure that receipts of probationary appraisal are acknowledged by department head or his/her designee and completed with necessary signature to proceed for approval.
  • Prepare Termination package if the employee did not pass the probationary period.
  • Review, process and approve various employees’ leave in accordance with the employee entitlement in conjunction with HMG Policy and Procedure and verify guarantor(s) information and ensure authenticity of signature for employees.
  • Process overtime and compensatory time off request for approval.
  • Coordinate with Govt. Relations to ensure issuance of exit/re-entry visas for vacationing employee and for any leave cancellation and revision at the earliest possible to refrain from expired exit re-entry visa and fine.
  • Notify employee for continuous absence after the end of their vacation.
  • Ensure that vacation, sick leave, absences and overtime are currently updated against the payroll summary.
  • Prepare correspondence related to area of responsibilities.
  • Prepare contract amendments for various benefit changes and obtain necessary approval and send it to concerned department for employee’s signature and update the system accordingly.
  • Comply with the standards laid down by the JCIA/CBAHI and performs duties necessary to support and achieve the accreditation.
